PRACTICE AREAS

Estate and Trust Administration

Estate administration refers to the management and settlement of a decedent’s estate. Estate administration involves probating the decedent’s estate, gathering the assets of the estate, paying the decedent’s debts, filing any required income and/or estate tax returns, and distributing the remaining assets to the beneficiaries. Our attorneys work with the decedent’s family to try to make this process as smooth as possible in this most difficult time.

Trust Administration is the process of managing assets held within a trust, whether it be revocable or irrevocable. A trust is managed by a trustee, who administers the trust in accordance with the directions set forth in the trust instrument for the benefit of its beneficiaries. Our attorneys assist trustees in the administration of trust as well as act as trustees.
